About our brand

Here at Roc City Raw we are animal lovers who help pet owners provide optimal nutrition for their beloved pets. We believe that an animal’s diet should be fresh, not highly processed. Therefore, we provide a fresh biologically appropriate raw diet so that they can live a long and healthy life. Our recipes are 100% human grade and formulated by our very own, Katie Hahnel, as well as approved by a certified pet nutritionist.

Our products provide dogs and cats with a diet free of harmful ingredients that are often found in commercial pet foods. Our human grade ingredients are locally sourced from USDA facilities and local USDA farmers, as well as manufactured in a USDA facility with an inspector on site.

We take pride in our products and services by showing customers we care by providing customer service that leaves them feeling as satisfied as their pet after a bowl of our food. We are available to help answer any questions and provide continued support and guidance through your raw feeding journey.

Why feed raw?

Domesticated dogs and cats systems are genetically consistent with their ancestors. Therefore their digestive systems are designed for a raw, live enzyme-rich diet. A raw diet is the natural choice for your pet. Just like people, dogs absorb nutrients better from whole foods rather than highly processed food containing high amounts of synthetic ingredients.

A biologically appropriate raw diet will often eliminate common health issues in our pets and allow their bodies to thrive as nature intended. No drug has the healing power of a species appropriate diet.

Our Food

We offer a variety of biologically appropriate raw food for dogs and cats. All of our ingredients are human grade, and USDA inspected. We manufacture in a USDA facility with an inspector on site. We take pride in our products knowing that they provide only what your pet needs, nothing more. No fillers, no byproducts meals, no high heat processing, no artificial ingredients. Most of our recipes meet or exceed the standards set by AAFCO’s dog and cat food nutrient profiles.

What sets us apart?

The quality and safety of our products sets us apart from commercial pet food brands. When a pet food is manufactured per human food manufacturing standards, it means they are held to the highest level of safety standards. Majority of pet foods are manufactured in pet food facilities which are not held to the same standards as human food. Roc City Raw manufactures in a USDA facility and follows the same safety standards as human food.

Complete and balanced grinds can be fed as meals with no additional ingredients required. Our complete meals follow and meet AAFCO and NRC guidelines. We recommend rotating proteins to ensure there are no nutritional gaps.

For the raw feeding enthusiasts or those who want to feed partially raw. Our base grinds can be fed as a meal but are NOT completely balanced per AFFCO and NRC. We strongly recommend supplementing and or adding your own varieties to ensure optimal nutrition. Base grinds make for great kibble toppers.
